Scott J. Hoppa, Senior Vice President of McShane Construction Company‘s Southeast Region, announced that the firm has been awarded the 304-unit Springs at May Lakes multi-family apartment complex on behalf of national developer and long-standing client, Continental Properties, Inc. The luxury rental development is under construction on a 40-acre site at 9900 South May Avenue in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, just south of Oklahoma City Community College and just one mile east of the Will Rogers World Airport. The site features three existing lakes serving as a complementary backdrop for the new high-end residential property. McShane Construction broke ground in September with the initial delivery of the clubhouse and leasing office scheduled for June 2015 followed by the final completion of the development in First Quarter 2016.
The 363,825 square foot Springs at May Lakes will be comprised of 14 residential buildings in a two-story, garden-style format. The complex will offer a blend of apartment configurations including 40 studios, 112 one-, 124 two- and 28 three-bedroom residences. Each residential unit incorporates modern appliances, wood-style flooring and in-unit washers and dryers, among other contemporary fixtures and finishes. Abundant on-site parking for 482 vehicles is available together with an additional 88 parking spaces in both attached and stand-alone garages throughout the development. McShane Construction will also complete a fully-featured community clubhouse with a 24-hour fitness center. The clubhouse will offer direct access to an elegant outdoor swimming pool surrounded by seating and entertainment areas with views overlooking the largest of the three lakes on the property. The development will also provide an on-site car care center. All sitework for the project including landscaping, sidewalks and paved parking will also be completed by McShane.
Springs at May Lakes represents McShane Construction’s second assignment in Oklahoma City on behalf of developer, Continental Properties, Inc. McShane is also constructing Continental Properties’ new 224-unit Springs at Memorial apartment complex that broke ground in August with project completion slated for Third Quarter 2015. “We are pleased to be under construction on our 11th assignment for Continental Properties and our second simultaneous apartment development in Oklahoma City for this respected developer,” remarked Hoppa. “Our team’s significant experience in serving the quality and schedule expectations of our client and in coordinating and delivering concurrent construction assignments offers efficiencies and confidence in delivering the luxury rental properties to the Oklahoma City community.”
Phillips Partnership is serving as project architect for both the Springs at May Lakes and the Springs at Memorial assignments.
