McShane - Midtown SquareMcShane Construction Company has begun construction on Midtown Square, a 138-unit, 215,000-square-foot luxury apartment complex on behalf of developer, Trammell Crow Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary High Street Residential.

The assignment required the demolition of four existing buildings situated on a 2.7 acre site at the intersection of Glenview Road and Church Street in preparation for the new construction of the four-story mixed-use development.  The apartment complex is prominently situated in downtown Glenview, offering tenants proximity to the Glenview Station Metra and Amtrak rails located just two blocks from the development.

The luxury residential units will be located on floors one through four and will consist of 101 one- and 37 two-bedroom floor plans.  The complex will also feature approximately 9,000 square feet of retail space with a drive-thru component on the ground floor, in addition to 5,000 square feet designated for tenant amenities including a fitness center, conference room, club room, business center, dog washing station and Wi-Fi coffee lounge.

The interior living spaces will incorporate modern finishes such as granite countertops, hardwood-style flooring and in-unit washers and dryers. Various apartments throughout the complex will also feature private outdoor balconies, and seven units will offer private ground-floor entrances.

Midtown Square will feature covered parking that will provide 101 spaces for residents and on-grade parking for both residential and retail users. McShane Construction will also complete the sitework for the assignment, including the construction of the development’s driveways and sidewalks, and the surrounding landscaping.

“The downtown Glenview area is a pedestrian-friendly community with a high volume of activity, making our efforts in building within this environment additionally challenging,” said Jeffrey Raday, president of McShane Construction Company. “We look forward to completing this desirable residential and retail addition to the growing downtown community of Glenview.”

Fitzgerald Associates Architects is providing the architectural services for the new luxury multi-family development.
