Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc. recently signed three furniture/home décor stores to retail locations in Chicago’s suburbs of Oak Brook and McHenry as well as downstate in Bloomington.
Wisconsin-based Ashley Furniture signed a lease for 31,573 square feet at Colonial Plaza in Bloomington, with plans to open in spring 2013. Ashley Furniture will co-anchor the 236,460-square-foot center along with Kmart and OfficeMax. Mid-America Vice PresidentsKatie Hennegan and Barb Kading and Leasing Representative Samantha Spinell represented the landlord in the lease, while Fred Feinblum of Feinblum Real Estate represented the tenant.
Chicago-area furniture chain The Room Place, headquartered in Lombard, signed a lease for 23,800 square feet at a free-standing former Border’s store at 2221 Richmond Road in McHenry, with plans to open in summer 2013. Hennegan represented the landlord in the lease, while Bill Mass of Mass Realty represented the tenant.
Pier 1 Imports signed a lease for 12,996 square feet at The Shops at Oak Brook Place in Oak Brook, with plans to open in September 2013. The 177,206-square-foot center at 2155 W. 22nd St. is anchored by Old Navy, T.J.Maxx, DSW, Nordstrom Rack and Cost Plus. Mid-America Principal Richard Spinell and Vice President Mary Beth Menelli-Iveljic represented the landlord in the transaction, while Andy Bulson and Mike Phillips of Mid-America Real Estate Corp. represented the tenant.
