Minneapolis-based Oppidan Investment Company has started redevelopment work on the former Kmart site at the intersection of Highway 694 and White Bear Avenue in White Bear Lake, Minn.
In February, Oppidan announced plans to redevelop the site into White Bear Marketplace, a 12.8-acre development that will include Cub Foods, the first new corporate Cub Foods store since 2008 and the introduction of the retailer’s new prototype; Cub Liquor; and a Planet Fitness. The site will also offer enhanced stormwater design, new green areas and sidewalk plantings.
An official groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the site on April 22 at 11 a.m.
Representatives from Oppidan Investment Company, Cub Foods and the City of White Bear Lake will be in attendance.
