Evanston, Ill.-based Morgante Wilson Architects, Ltd., a leading architecture and interior design firm, today announced it has promoted Alicia Chlebek Blakely from project manager to associate of architecture.
In her new role, Blakely will continue her focus on single-family residential design, and will also take on new responsibilities, such as planning and managing internal professional development seminars for MWA staff. Additionally, she will be involved in promoting sustainable design ideas and managing MWA’s social media channels.
Blakely joined MWA in 2013 as a project manager, a position in which she was involved in all aspects of the design process, including completing technical drawings, ensuring compliance with construction and building codes, and evaluating project sites. In addition to her residential work, she has project experience across other building types including mixed-use, healthcare, commercial, retail and education.
A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, Blakely is active in Chicago Women in Architecture and is currently pursuing her architecture license and certification with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
