Mortenson has completed financing and acquired the site for the Judge Doyle Square Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin, from the City of Madison. Mortenson is advancing a 262-room Embassy Suites by Hilton on the site, which will serve the convention center, capitol and downtown Madison business community.
“This milestone represents a long-anticipated culmination of a successful public-private collaboration between the City of Madison, Destination Madison, Monona Terrace, numerous community stakeholders and the Mortenson team,” said Nate Gundrum, Vice President Real Estate Development at Mortenson. “We look forward to executing on the City’s vision to transform this component of Judge Doyle Square into a modern hospitality destination.”
In conjunction with Kahler Slater, Vierbicher and Wild Muse, Mortenson will finalize permitting for the project during the next several months and plans to break ground in Spring 2022. The new Embassy Suites by Hilton Madison Downtown is scheduled to open in early 2024.
