Blue Ash, Ohio-based NAI Bergman held its annual Drop Inn Center food drive Dec. 24.
More than 25 people contributed their time and money to make this event a success. Several truckloads of food were purchased and donated to the Drop Inn Center in Cincinnati. In addition to these donations, staffers at the Railhouse 1854 Restaurant in Glendale, Ohio, cooked and delivered turkey dinners on Christmas Eve for more than 200 people.
Laurence Bergman and Billy Gillman of NAI Bergman have organized this event for many years and recruited the volunteers.
The Drop Inn Center serves three daily meals, seven days a week to 222 homeless individuals. It is the largest homeless shelter in the tri-state region. According to Gail Holtmeier, director of development, Cincinnati is one of the poorest cities in the nation.
