Katz & Associates CRE pro earns Volunteer of the Year award from CCIM

Holly Buchanan

Holly Buchanan with Katz & Associates has received the inaugural Charles “Mac” McClure Volunteer of the Year Award from the CCIM. Buchanan serves as a senior director at the Katz Nashville, Tennessee, office, which she helped open in 2017.

Buchanan received the award in Chicago on Oct. 15 at the CCIM Inauguration Ball, a celebration of the installation of 2023 CCIM Leadership and a part of the Institute’s fall business meetings.

Mac passed away earlier this year. He was the CCIM Institute president in 2009 and a well-loved broker/developer in the Dallas market, as well as a CCIM Institute instructor. Mac was passionate about education and professional development. His legacy of service and excellence in commercial real estate will continue through his wife Susan McClure; his son, John McClure; and all those who worked with him.

Born and raised in the Nashville area, Buchanan has extensive knowledge and expertise of the Tennessee markets and has built strong relationships with local brokers, owners and developers. She has devoted more than 20 years exclusively to retail site selection, leasing and retail/office sales. Buchanan earned her CCIM designation in 2009, has served on many committees at the National level, and will be the Education Presidential Liaison in 2024.

CCIM stands for Certified Commercial Investment Member. To demonstrate experience in commercial real estate, every candidate for the CCIM designation is required to: complete an education component; submit a portfolio of qualifying activities, transactions, projects, or work products; and pass the comprehensive exam.
