Merrillville, Indiana-based MonoSol is breaking ground on a manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Indiana, Sept. 12.
MonoSol is a division of Japanese manufacturer Kuraray. The cmopany is investing in the $72 million construction of a 150,000-square-foot water-soluble film manufacturing facility at 155 S. Mt. Zion Road in Lebanon.
The new facility will bring 89 jobs to the area by 2020.
The ground-breaking ceremony will feature a daruma doll ceremony. These dolls are a lucky charm in Japan, one that helps fulfill wishes. At the beginning of a project, leaders paint one eye of the doll. When the project is done, they paint the other eye in celebration of wishes being fulfilled.
