A new Walmart opened March 5 in Warren, Mich., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new store is located inside the Tech Plaza retail center at 29176 Van Dyke Ave.
The store is open 24 hours a day and offers pharmacy services.
“Walmart returning to warren is significant because the new modern store is located in the center of our city, and will bring upscale smaller businesses to the almost vacant 12 Mile-Van Dyke shopping center,” said Warren Mayor Jim Fouts in a written statement.
A Walmart previously operated from the Tech Plaza in Warren, but that store closed 15 years ago.
The new store will employ 300 full- and part-time associates.
