NorthPoint Development has broken ground on a new distribution center at Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton, Kansas. The property, Inland Port VII, will encompass 952,956 square feet of industrial space at the southeast corner of 185th and Waverly Road. Upon completion in April 2020, Inland VII will be the largest spec industrial building ever built in the state of Kansas.
“This is a tremendous win for NorthPoint, for Edgerton and for Kansas logistics and distribution,” said Kansas Secretary of Commerce David Toland. “This project will help solidify Logistics Park Kansas City as one of the premier destinations for distributors in the United States. We applaud NorthPoint for their latest, but certainly not their last, major success in Kansas.”
Since construction began on LPKC in 2013, the development has amassed more than 13.5 million square feet of industrial space across 20 properties for over 21 of tenants, many of whom were first time tenants to the market.
“Edgerton is quickly becoming known as a logistics and distribution powerhouse,” said Mayor Don Roberts, Mayor of Edgerton, Kansas. “Companies know that they can be successful here. LPKC has exceeded all expectations and we fully believe this new spec building won’t be vacant for long.”
JLL Managing Director Kevin Wilkerson and Executive Vice President Phil Algrim will continue to lead the leasing efforts at Logistics Park Kansas City.
