Plenty of people broke out their brightest shirts, hats and shoes Feb. 6 for the American Heart Association’s and National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s National Wear Red Day. The day is designed to raise awareness of heart disease, which is the number-one killer of women in the United States.
According to the numbers, nearly 500,000 U.S. women die each year because of heart disease.
Last Friday, even one of the iconic buildings in downtown Detroit got involved, the One Detroit Center. This Class-A office building in downtown Detroit used an impressive light show to turn itself a stunning shade of red.
