Pharmaceutical distributor Pharma Logistics broke ground on a new facility on North Butterfield Road in Libertyville, Illinois. Principle Construction is serving as the general contractor on the project and Harris Architects provided design services. Construction on the building is expected to be completed in early 2020.
The new 126,611-square-foot facility will be located near the company’s current corporate offices and will house new corporate office space along with a fulfillment center and eight loading docks. The new building serves to expand Pharma Logistics’ current operations taking place in both Mundelein and Libertyville.
“This new facility marks a significant step forward in Pharma Logistics’ growth,” said Michael Zaccaro, president and CEO of Pharma Logistics. “As a resident of this village where Pharma Logistics was founded, we are happy to be part of the growth and economic development here in Libertyville. The new state-of-the-art building will give us the room and resources we need to expand and better support the needs of our current and future customers.”
The build-to-suit will include eight docks, one drive-in door, 188 parking spaces, and 30-foot clear height ceilings. The building will be equipped with two RTUs for the warehouse and five RTUs for the office, 1,600-amp service and high bay LED light fixtures. Principle’s Jim Brucato is acting as principal on the project, Ernest Spina is the project manager, and Principle’s Mark Frane is acting as the superintendent.
