NAI Hiffman has announced that John Picchiotti has been appointed chief operating officer – brokerage. Picchiotti will oversee the Industrial and Office services group, which currently represents more than 20 million square feet of third-party assets for investor clients. Responsibilities for this newly created position include overseeing brokerage growth through new business development, mentoring for emerging brokers, recruiting and continuing the firm’s commitment to exceptional client service. Picchiotti will sit on the firm’s Operating Committee.
“Acquiring a COO for our brokerage division was the next logical step for us. Our growth over the past few years warrants a full-time leader to work with our brokerage teams, partner with our property management leaders and ensure our service platform remains exceptional in providing what our clients need,” said NAI Hiffman Chief Executive Officer Dave Petersen. “John is not only a terrific culture fit for our firm, his relationships and industry tenure will positively impact our strategy. It’s an exciting time for us.”
Prior to joining NAI Hiffman, Picchiotti was first vice president-market officer of operations at Prologis with oversight of operating P&L, leasing, property management, customer relations and capital projects; most recently, providing leadership over its 25 million-square-foot Chicago market portfolio. Picchiotti completed or supervised more than 600 transactions representing 50 million square feet and exceeding $1 billion in revenue. Prior to his tenure at Prologis, he was an office tenant and agency representative at Grubb & Ellis. Picchiotti is a University of Illinois graduate who is actively involved in YoungLife, a non-profit organization that reaches out to more than one million middle school, high school and college students around the world each year in friendship and faith.
“NAI Hiffman is a recognized leader in suburban Chicago – this is a rare opportunity to both join a reputable team and be a part of the ongoing growth and direction of the company,” Picchiotti said. “I am confident that we can build upon past success and create innovative solutions as we partner with current and future clients.”
Picchiotti is based out of NAI Hiffman’s Oakbrook Terrace headquarters.
