Alderman Ray Suarez of the 31st Ward introduced to Chicago City council on November 5, 2014 the Planned Development (PD) of The Fields, a 21 acre, 1.5 million square foot mixed-use redevelopment of the former Marshall Field Distribution Center located at 4000 West Diversey Avenue on the northwest side of Chicago.
The project will be redeveloped by 4K Diversey Partners LLC- who purchased it from Macy’s on January 16, 2014.
“This project will create over 1,000 new jobs in spaces comprised of a grocery store, high tech office space, 84 business work/live units, industrial and warehouse, self storage and a data center,” stated Alderman Ray Suarez.
Construction and jobs creation will start in 2015.
“Be redeveloping the campus into a multi-tenant project, we envision a destination that supports office, manufacturing, warehouse and distribution jobs in Chicago,” said Lou Silver, CEO odf Studio 41 who is both a tenant and Partner with Aaron Davis and Paul Fishbein of Merit Partners, LLC who collectively make up 4K Diversey Partners LLC.
“The Fields is a great location only six miles from the Lopp and 1.5 miles from I-94/I-90, making access to the metro area quick and easy. The location has an abundant skilled workforce of approximately 500,000 persons within a three-mile radius of the property. The Metra’s Milwaukee District/North Line Healy station is only five blocks from the campus, and the CTA’s Logan Square Blue Line subway station is just one mile away,” said Paul Fishbein.
