Chicago-based Spaces Real Estate today announced the start of pre-leasing at Hazel Place, a 15-unit rental community under construction in Chicago’s Buena Park neighborhood. Located at 4337 N. Hazel Street, the three-story brick building is being renovated by Chicago-based Arbor Investment Management LLC, which has retained Spaces as the exclusive leasing brokerage.
“When this property was built in 1901, it was one of the first luxury apartment buildings in Buena Park, so it’s a landmark within the neighborhood that has been reimagined for a new generation of renters,” said Bentley Phillips, founder Spaces Real Estate. “The building’s vintage charm, modern floor plans and amenities, and walkable location near the lakefront make Hazel Place a true standout in the North Side rental market.”
Hazel Place offers two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 924 to 1,358 square feet and priced from $2,625 per month. Every residence also includes keyless smartphone-ready entry, smart lighting controls, Nest thermostats and full Amazon Echo integration, as well as in-unit laundry. In addition to high-end unit finishes, Hazel Place will offer a pet-washing station, bicycle storage area and landscaped rooftop deck that includes pergolas and seating areas with grilling stations.
“Hazel Place is optimally located in the heart of one of Chicago’s most popular North Side neighborhoods, just a half-mile from the lakefront, so we wanted to take full advantage of that by adding the rooftop deck,” said Sam Goldman of Arbor Investment Management LLC. “At the same time, it was important to preserve building elements such as the brick exterior and other details like the ornate entryway and some of the original stained glass windows to maintain the character of the building in the context of the surrounding neighborhood.”
Hazel Place is a few blocks from the Lake Michigan shoreline, with convenient access to Montrose Beach, the Lakefront Trail and 18-hole Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course. The CTA Red Line station at Wilson Avenue is less than a 10-minute walk from the property, further broadening the appeal to downtown commuters. Also within walking distance are the numerous shops and restaurants that line Uptown’s burgeoning Broadway corridor, including a full-size Target, ALDI and local boutiques.
