Principle Construction completed construction on a new 4,000-square-foot flagship Circle K fleet convenience store with premium amenities for truck drivers and road-trippers at 70 Airport Road in West Dundee, Illinois.
The grand opening of Circle K, is the culmination of many major milestones in the 56-acre redevelopment project on I-90 at Route 31, transforming the property into a full-service hub for truckers, travelers, and commuters.
The Principle team installed eight dual-sided fuel dispensers for cars and four dual-sided and two single-sided fuel dispensers for trucks on the building’s exterior. Inside the building, drivers and passengers will find a 354 square foot cooler for soda, water, energy drinks, beer and more. The team built a 52-square-foot freezer to store ice cream, pizza, and more. A hot dog island that will hold condiment dispensers, a soda fountain, and a coffee station. The Circle K is open 24/7 for the convenience of drivers and the surrounding community.
In addition to the fleet-centric Circle K, the redevelopment includes a 1,006-space secured truck parking facility, a comprehensive truck repair and maintenance facility, a state-of-the-art truck wash, a quick service restaurant (QSR), and modern office space for trucking and logistics companies.
Principle’s Darrin Dehmlow is the project manager on this project. Principle’s Stephen Augustyn served as the superintendent. Gleason Architects designed the space. An affiliate of Speedwagon Capital is the building’s owner. The new Circle K opened on October 31.
