Savills Studley announced that Executive Vice Presidents, Joe Learner and Robert Sevim, received the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s (GCFD) Broker of the Year Award during its 27th Annual Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards dinner on Thursday, March 5, 2015.
With a combined 40 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage, Learner and Sevim have worked together for over a decade. In 2014 alone, the duo completed approximately 1.5 million square feet of projects including the largest downtown office headquarters lease as well as two full building leases in two distinct suburban submarkets.
Learner and Sevim also received this honor for their work in 2011. This year Learner reached a milestone by becoming the first-ever four-time Broker of the Year winner. In addition, as the recipient of the Build-to-Suit of the Year Award the past two consecutive years, Sevim becomes the first person ever to win an award at the event four straight years.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen for this esteemed industry award among such an elite group of real estate professionals in our market,” said Learner, who is a member of Savills Studley’s Board of Directors and is celebrating his 25th anniversary with the firm. “In the past 12 years, members of our Chicago office have been awarded this prestigious honor a remarkable six times, and ten times in the event’s 27 year history – a true testament to our steadfast client advocacy and dedication to innovative tenant transactions.”
The 27th Annual Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards Dinner brought together more than 1,850 of Chicago’s top architects, brokers, developers, property managers, interior contractors and design professionals to both celebrate the outstanding achievements in all facets of the industry and to support the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The partnership is designed to help build a better Chicago. The event raised over $1,100,000 which will provide approximately 3.3 million meals for the hungry in Chicago.
“We are truly honored to receive this award,” added Sevim, who was named Co-Head of Savills Studley’s Chicago region in November. “It is most important, however, to thank the Greater Chicago Food Depository for their extraordinary support and phenomenal contribution to the Chicago community as well as congratulate all of the well deserving finalists and winners.”
