Friendship Village Chesterfield is moving ahead with the first phase of a master-planned expansion of its senior living community in Chesterfield, Mo.
Brinkmann Constructors has begun the $15 million project that will add 30 senior-living apartments and a heated underground parking garage. The addition will give Friendship Village Chesterfield 442 residences at the 34-acre campus. The addition will be completed by the end of the year.
The one- and two-bedroom apartment homes range in size from 985 to 1,608 square feet and feature spacious patios or balconies. Clad in masonry and siding, the apartments will include energy efficient appliances, urgent-response systems and fire-protection systems.
During the expansion, improvements will also be made to the main dining area, the lobby and campus-wide technology. Future planned phases include a new central park area with walking paths and recreational spaces and a new, state-of-the-art “Village Care Center,” designed as a home-like skilled-nursing facility.
Brinkmann is also nearing completion of Phase I of a $50 million expansion of the Friendship Village Sunset Hills senior living community in Sunset Hills, Mo. The general contractor is building 10 new independent living villas giving the community a total of 415 independent living units on the 52-acre campus.
