National law firm Armstrong Teasdale announced that partner E. Calvin Matthews IV will assume the role of Practice Group Leader for the firm’s Corporate Services group, effective July 1.
Jennifer Byrne, who has led the group since 2020, will return full-time to her role as Partner to meet increasing client demand. Both attorneys are based in the firm’s St. Louis, Missouri headquarters.
Matthews is a trusted advisor to private equity groups, high-net-worth owner-operators and corporate boards, with deep experience in acquisitions, dispositions, governance, risk management and litigation strategies. He regularly serves as outside counsel to CEOs and senior executives, advising on complex deals and regulatory compliance. He has been with Armstrong Teasdale since 2014.
As Practice Group Leader, Matthews will work closely with the firm’s Executive Committee to guide strategic planning and execution within the Corporate Services group. He joins a leadership team that also includes Matthew J. Reh and James M. Heinen, Jr., leading the Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property groups, respectively.
Byrne focuses her legal practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate finance, emerging companies and corporate governance across industry sectors.
