Summit Design + Build LLC has completed Career Vision’s new corporate office and career counseling center at 526 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn.
Career Vision was established in 1989 as the service and career consulting division of The Ball Foundation. Their goal is to provide career services to students and adults, teaching them how to make the best career decisions based on their natural abilities. The Ball Foundation has operated in Glen Ellyn since 1975 and will be relocating along with Career Vision to the newly renovated facility.
The project required the complete structural renovation and conversion of an existing 7,500-square-foot two-story historical building including all new millwork, flooring, walls, windows and the installation of an elevator in the center of the building that required the reconfiguration of the front vestibule and stairs. Improvements were also made to the exterior parking lot in order to meet ADA requirement and increase parking capacity.
Summit Design + Build’s Matt Piekarz, project engineer II, and Jeff Harwood, director of field operations, were responsible for the on-site construction of Career Vision. Ware Malcomb provided architectural services for the project.
