Summit Design + Build LLC has been selected as the general contractor for American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s new corporate headquarters facility at 822 W. Washington Blvd. in Chicago.
The reconstruction of the existing 30,000-square-foot, two-story office/warehouse structure with full basement includes the installation of a new hydraulic elevator, stair systems, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems. ASSH will occupy the entire second floor and the first floor will feature loft-style office space and a large conference room with individual heating/cooling and high-end finishes throughout. ASSH’s build-out includes private offices, conference room, yoga room, pantry, lounge and a large meeting space for conferences and workshops. Completion is scheduled for end of second quarter 2012.
Summit Design + Build’s Patrick Brown, senior project manager, and Rodger Meyer, superintendent, will be responsible for the on-site construction of ASSH. MRSA Architects and Planners is the project architect.
