The Habitat Company announced that Lori Chacos joined the firm as vice president and assistant general counsel.
In her new role, Chacos will be involved in all legal aspects of Habitat’s acquisition, development and management services, and will provide various legal services to Habitat’s property portfolio. Her duties will range from purchases and sales, to loan refinances and property management agreements, among others.
For the past 13 years, Chacos served as vice president, associate general counsel and director of residential development at Joseph Freed and Associates LLC. During her tenure there, she directed all legal aspects of the development of 15 mixed-use condominium projects in four states with a seven-year collective market value of $357 million. Prior to that Chacos held various project management roles at Centrum Properties, Inc., now Centrum Partners LLC; Metropolitan Properties of Chicago, Inc.; and Home by Invsco, Ltd.
Chacos has a master’s degree of law in real estate from The John Marshall Law School, a doctorate in law from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Wittenberg University.
