The Missner Group recently completed a 65,000-square-foot renovation for Famsa USA in Bedford Park. Located at 6733-6755 W. 65th St., the property is owned by Principal Real Estate Investors which selected The Missner Group for the project.
“We have worked with Principal Real Estate Investors on a number of development and construction projects through the years and are pleased to have had another opportunity to work with them on behalf of their tenant,” said Glen Missner, executive vice president of The Missner Group.
“Our first project with The Missner Group was the Howard Industrial Center in Niles years ago and we have completed numerous projects with them since that time,” said David Straka, senior asset manager, Principal Real Estate Investors.
Famsa sells furniture, electronics and appliances on credit to clients throughout Mexico and the United States. The firm currently operates 53 stores in the United States, three of which serve the Chicago area. Famsa recently leased space at the Bedford Park property for its warehouse operations and the Missner Group was selected to complete the build-out of the tenant’s new space.
Construction at the multi-tenant property included 62,000 square feet of warehouse improvements and 3,000 square feet of office renovations. New windows were cut into the exterior precast walls to create natural lighting in the offices. The office area also features an open work space, private offices and a break room. In addition, the Missner Group constructed a full-height demising wall in the warehouse.
The Missner Group’s Drue Stoehr, vice president of construction, was the project executive and Curt Burns, senior project manager, and Angelo Christopher, superintendent, led the construction efforts. The Interior Design Group Ltd. provided the architectural services. Larry Much of NAI Hiffman represented both the tenant and the landlord in lease negotiations. CBRE is the asset manager of the property owned by Principal Real Estate Investors.
