The Opus Group now has a contract with King Shan, L.L.C. to build 45,000 square feet of new industrial and office space next door to its existing facility in West Dundee, Illinois. Opus constructed King Shan’s existing 35,000-square-foot facility in 2010.
“It’s a pleasure to work with King Shan again,” said Jim Caesar, regional vice president of Opus Design Build, L.L.C. “We’re looking forward to supporting its efforts to expand their space and business.”
The new space will allow King Shan, a leading manufacturer of steel wire and metal fabrication products, to expand its production and distribution operations. The building, to be built directly adjacent to King Shan’s current facility, will feature approximately 41,000 square feet of warehouse space with 24-foot clear height ceilings, as well as 4,000 square feet of office space. The two facilities will be linked via a graded driveway, ensuring optimal integration and functionality.
“Our team is honored to have the opportunity to build on our past success with King Shan as the company looks to meet the needs of its U.S.-based customers,” said Caesar.
Construction will begin this fall, with completion slated for January 2015. Opus Design Build, L.L.C. is the project’s design-builder, and Opus AE Group, L.L.C. is the architect and engineer of record.
