The Opus Group has started construction on an about 200,000-square-foot speculative industrial warehouse and distribution facility in Shakopee, Minn.
This construction marks the start of phase 1 at the future Valley Park Business Center.
“It’s great to see this project break ground and we’re confident in our timing from the activity we’ve seen in the industrial sector during the past year,” said Dave Menke, executive vice president of Opus Development Company, L.L.C., in a written statement. “There is limited new industrial product coming online in the Twin Cities market, so this building and future phases will help fill a void in the area.”
The new building will feature 32-foot clear height, 37 dock doors, two drive-in doors and about 160 parking stalls.The facility is slated for completion in the spring of 2014.
Opus Development Company, L.L.C. is the developer, Opus Design Build, L.L.C. is the design-builder and Opus AE Group, L.L.C. is the architect and engineer.
