Trader Joe’s, a Monrovia, Calif.-based grocery chain, has started construction on a $30 million distribution center in Minooka.
The two-building industrial project includes 700,000 square feet of dry and cold warehouse and another 100,000 square feet of cold warehouse that can be expanded up to 150,000 square feet, according to reports. The development is in progress in the San Francisco-based Prologis-owned business park, Internationale Centre South. Last month, Trader Joe’s East Inc. bought nearly 56 acres of land in the park for $3.5 million.
