Vecino Group is converting the McDaniel building in Springfield, Mo., into a $7 million 39-unit student-housing facility to be called the U at Springfield.
The student housing is expected to be open by Aug. 1.
The Vecino Group purchased the McDaniel building in December from MMW Properties LLC. The sales price was not disclosed.
The new project will feature 89 beds, with rents ranging from $550 to $700 a bed. The project will also include a workout facility, student louge and 4,000 square feet of retail space.
