Waterton, a national real estate investor and operator, announced the hiring of Lee Everett as director of research and strategy. An accomplished real estate research professional, Everett brings almost 15 years of experience and a demonstrated track record of driving strategy in the residential and commercial real estate spaces. Everett will be responsible for the direct oversight of all research functions at the firm.

“We are excited to welcome Lee to the Waterton team,” said Rick Hurd, chief investment officer of Waterton. “Lee’s unique research background will help Waterton navigate these challenging economic times and capitalize on opportunities, by providing proactive, data-driven support to our evolving investment strategies.”

Prior to joining Waterton, Everett was head of research and strategy at Benchmark Senior Living. He was previously at CoStar Portfolio Strategy, where he was a multifamily strategy consultant for some of the largest investment managers, life insurers, pension funds, banks and private equity funds in the U.S. Prior to that, he worked as a consultant at The Concord Group, a boutique national real estate consulting firm.

“Waterton has long been a company that I’ve admired, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the firm,” Everett said. “From the culture, to making sophisticated and impactful investments, Waterton’s track record speaks for itself. I look forward to contributing my experience to the firm’s investment strategy.”
