Wichita, Kansas-based Occidental Management has named Lee Schnyder as senior property manager.
Schnyder has a foundation in Wichita. His mother is a native Wichitan and his maternal grandfather started a business here that was in the family for 100 years. After graduating from Wichita State University, Schnyder spent several decades working for Wichita-born companies such as Brite Voice, Candlewood Suites, Lange Real Estate and BrightPorch Properties (owned by the Bastian Family/Fidelity Bank).
The last 20 years have been focused on multi-family housing, as well as working with HUD to develop affordable housing for seniors and people with mental illness through the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas. Most recently, Schnyder was president at BrightPorch Properties, where he led a rebranding effort with a focus on reinvigorating older properties.
Schnyder is a certified manager of housing, manager of maintenance, occupancy specialist, financial specialist, and registered housing manager through the National Center for Housing Management.
