Colliers International Chicago’s Mike Senner, Vern Schultz and Peter Bourke arranged the land sale of 345 N. Aberdeen St. in Fulton Market on behalf of Cougle Commission Company (Cougle) to Sterling Bay. Sold as a land site, the property includes a 20,000-square-foot building. The sale price was undisclosed.
Cougle Commission Company is one of Chicago’s largest family-based poultry further processors and has been headquartered in the city since 1873. In April, the company moved its operations to a 37,680-square-foot, state-of-the-art food processing facility at 2801 S. Ashland Ave. that is highly specialized to suit Cougle’s unique needs.
“The current landscape in Fulton Market enabled us to capitalize on the market which in turn allowed Cougle to expand on Ashland Ave.,” said Senner.
The new facility not only added processing capacity, but Cougle is also expected to add new jobs in the near term.
