Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, a leading law, healthcare and consulting firm, will expand its Chicago office with a relocation to the recently opened 151 N. Franklin Street tower in Chicago’s Loop. The move into 11,000 square feet of custom, high-tech space within the John Buck Company’s recently completed 35-story office building underscores Manatt’s commitment to growing its digital and technology offering in the region.
“We are delighted to cement our commitment to expanding our Chicago footprint with this move,” said William T. Quicksilver, CEO and managing partner of Manatt. “We have already built strong financial services and healthcare practices in the region, and this increased office space will allow us to expand in tech and digital as part of our overall national growth strategy.”
Since opening in 2016, the firm’s Chicago office has added a number of high-profile hires in financial services, healthcare and commercial litigation. The office was established with the arrival of Richard E. Gottlieb, a financial services partner long recognized by Chambers & Partners as one of the nation’s leading financial services attorneys. This year, as part of the expansion of its national healthcare practice, Manatt Health, highly respected healthcare transactional, tax and regulatory attorneys Keith R. Anderson, Fatema F. Zanzi and Linda S. Moroney joined the Chicago team, in addition to senior healthcare consultant Shannon Lorbiecki.
“This new location provides us a lot of room to grow our multidisciplinary professional services offering that truly distinguishes us from others in the industry,” said Gottlieb. “By expanding our space, we can continue to serve as a destination employer for the industry’s top talent.”
The LEED-certified building boasts state-of-the-art features such as smartphone-enabled access to destination dispatch elevators and floor-to-ceiling glass with beam-free corners with outstanding city, Chicago River and Lake Michigan views. Located in close proximity to public transit with high-end amenities, the building has become a sought-after office space for some of the nation’s largest and most high-profile companies seeking to establish and grow a presence in Chicago. Other tenants at 151 N. Franklin include the building’s namesake tenant, CNA Financial, which occupies around 300,000 square feet of the tower’s total 807,355 square feet. Social media giant Facebook recently leased 263,000 square feet as well.
