Avison Young hired Matthew Seliger as Principal and Market Leader for its Houston office.
In this role, Seliger will lead the market’s strategic growth initiatives, expanding the firm’s capabilities across brokerage, property management, project management, and valuation services while recruiting top industry talent to support continued growth.
A seasoned commercial real estate leader, Seliger brings extensive experience in agency leasing, tenant representation, strategic lease negotiations, and asset positioning. He has successfully developed and executed property-specific marketing strategies, led capital improvement projects, and mentored the next generation of brokerage professionals.
As Market Leader, Seliger will focus on growing Avison Young’s Houston platform while fostering the firm’s collaborative, people-first culture. His vision includes strategically expanding the brokerage business, investing in talent, and positioning the office for sustained long-term success.
Seliger joins Avison Young from Stream Realty Partners, where he spent more than four years as Vice President, Office Leasing, overseeing the leasing of institutional-quality office assets throughout the Houston market. Prior to Stream, he spent nine years at Transwestern, representing both office and industrial tenants while also providing agency leasing services.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin and is actively involved in the community through Texas Exes, The Texas Cowboys Alumni Association, Wilchester Men’s Club, and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
