Chicago-based Baum Realty Group, LLC (“Baum”), one of the Midwest’s leading retail brokerage firms, announced that DryHop Brewers has signed a lease for their second Chicagoland brewery at 3446 N. Southport Ave., between Newport Ave. and Cornelia Ave. The 3,000 square foot facility will be called Corridor Brewery & Provisions and is scheduled to open next summer.
Baum Vice President Will Crowden and Principal Allen Joffe arranged the lease on behalf of DryHop owner and founder, Greg Shuff. Corridor is Shuff’s second concept, following closely on the heels of the wildly successful launch of DryHop Brewers. Corridor will focus on farmhouse style beers, and will offer a Midwestern influenced menu featuring sandwiches and flatbreads baked in a clay hearth oven.
According to Crowden, DryHop’s success has taken Chicago by storm. “The place is packed day and night” said Crowden. “You’d be hard pressed to find another more successful craft brewing operation anywhere in Chicago. They are the rare operators who have nailed everything – their beverage program, the food, excellent service, enticing décor – they are truly firing on all cylinders,” he added.
“We are really excited to join the West Lakeview community and open our second brewpub on the North Side of Chicago. We feel extremely fortunate to have the ongoing support from our neighbors in East Lakeview and are looking forward to getting to know our new ones along the Southport Corridor,” said Shuff. “Expansion started with picking the right location, and we knew we wanted to go to an area where consumers remain thirsty for new craft concepts. Our new space will have an 18-foot bow-truss ceiling and feature stacked fermenters and brite tanks, along with an open air storefront and eventually, a patio,” added Shuff.
Since opening DryHop, Shuff has been named to Zagat’s 30 under 30, and remarkably, at age 26, was named to the inaugural class of Full Service Restaurant Magazine’s 40 Under 40 – Rising Stars list. DryHop itself won serious accolades in 2013, including a seat on Thrillist’s Best Burgers in America list; the Best New Brewery designation from the Time Out Chicago Food and Drink Awards, and a spot on Eater.com’s nationwide list of the 23 Hottest Craft Beer Bars in America.
