The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR) is pleased to report that its members have donated a total of $13,500 to make 27 Trunk Scholarships possible as part of the Ada S. McKinley College-Bound Trunk Scholarship program in 2022. The scholarships are provided to students typically from the West and South sides of Chicago; each scholarship winner is selected based on an essay contest and a demonstration of financial need. Information about the essay winners — including their standout submissions — can be found here.
2022 marks the 12th year of the Chapter’s support of this worthwhile charitable initiative. Each trunk is valued at $500 and includes living and learning essentials college-bound honorees need to begin their journey including new laptops, earbuds, backpacks, dorm room essentials, school supplies, and more.
The ceremonial Trunk Pick-Up Day occurred on July 21st at the Ada S. McKinley Community Services main office at 11 E. 34th Street in Chicago.
