CBRE was awarded the TOBY International Building of the year award for the 36-story 100 N. Riverside office building in Chicago, home to aircraft giant Boeing’s international headquarters. The award was given at the 2018 BOMA International Conference & Expo in San Antonio, Texas.
The TOBY Awards are the commercial real estate industry’s highest recognition, honoring excellence in commercial building management and operations in specific categories of building size and type. During the competitions, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated—with everything considered from community involvement and site management to environmental policies and procedures.
In this review, the building obtained a 4.91 / 5.0 rating which included a 100 percent overall tenant satisfaction rating in 2017. The property holds nine tenant events and eight community service events annually. A culture of sustainability in the building that includes a monitoring-based commissioning program has saved 1.7M kWh per year, leading to a USGBC LEED Gold, Boeing Conservation Award, CBRE Sustainability Leaders of the Year and an EPA EnergyStar score of 87.
The 777,358-square-foot, Class A office building overlooking the Chicago River was constructed in 1990 and is 96 percent leased. In addition to Boeing, which owns the building, mapping and location intelligence firm HERE Technologies runs its North American headquarters out of 100 N. Riverside.
