Chicago’s Byline Bank added new leadership in the bank’s Wealth Management group to further support the complex financial needs of the bank’s high-net-worth clients.
Doug Throneburg, CFA, CFP®, CPA, joins Byline Bank as Executive Vice President and Head of Wealth Management, Kurt Funderburg joins as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer and Andrew Crouch, JD, joins as Senior Vice President and Chief Fiduciary Officer.
In his new role as Head of Wealth Management for Byline Bank, Throneburg is responsible for leading all aspects of the Wealth Management group. Throneburg has more than 30 years of experience in financial planning, tax strategies and estate planning, most recently serving as Managing Director of Wealth Advisory for First American Bank. In this role, he managed the investment, client advisory, business development and private banking departments within the Wealth Management Group. Prior to that, he worked as a financial planner within a CPA firm providing financial planning to the firm’s high-net-worth clients. Throneburg holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Illinois State University and an MBA from North Central College.
In Funderburg’s new role as Chief Investment Officer for Byline Bank, he is responsible for leading the investment team, managing client portfolios and performance, and effectively directing Byline’s investment strategy based on market conditions and economic outlook. An experienced equity analyst, strategist and portfolio manager, Funderburg also comes to Byline from First American Bank, where he was Vice President and Director of Equity and Economic Research. In that role, he managed equity and economic research functions for the bank and helped their Wealth clients better understand current economic and market conditions. Prior to that, he held equity analyst positions at Morningstar, Harris Associates and Ferris Baker Watts, among others. Funderburg has a bachelor’s degree in finance from West Virginia University and an MBA from Penn State University.
Coming to Byline from his previous position as Head of Trust and Fiduciary Services at Old Second National Bank, Crouch joins Byline as Senior Vice President and Chief Fiduciary Officer. In his new role, Crouch is responsible for coordinating and managing the trust and fiduciary business of the bank to deliver exceptional client service to Wealth Management clients. Prior to his time at Old Second, Crouch was in private practice at a boutique law firm specializing in estate and succession planning, real property, and closely held business law. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law.
