Chicago-based Fifield Cos. has announced that Logan Apartments, its new-construction, 220-unit mixed-use development in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, is now 75 percent leased.
“It was a challenge to open a building in the spring of 2020, at the height of shelter-in-place restrictions, which makes reaching this milestone even more gratifying, as it is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of everyone on the Fifield team and our partners,” said Jon Schneider, senior vice president at Fifield Cos., which co-developed Logan Apartments with Terraco Real Estate. “We have built an amazing community of residents at Logan Apartments who’ve come not only for the neighborhood, well-designed units and range of amenities, but also for the exceptional level of service our team provides.”
In addition, a new contemporary Greek restaurant, Andros Taverna, will open on Valentine’s Day in the ground-floor retail space at the building located at 2480-2252 N. Milwaukee Avenue. The Mediterranean soul food restaurant joins a number of other retail tenants that have opened in the building over the past six months, bringing the 62,000 square feet of total ground-floor retail to 72 percent leased.
Born of a partnership among Michelin-starred chef Doug Psaltis, decorated pastry chef Hsing Chen and Chicago-based Ballyhoo Hospitality, Andros Taverna will launch with take-out service, eventually offering sit-down dining at the restaurant, which has been designed with enhanced COVID-19 safety precautions.
“As with all of our developments at Fifield, we are very intentional about the businesses and concepts we bring to the neighborhoods we serve, and this focused commitment has paid off with Andros Taverna choosing Logan Apartments for its chef-driven dining experience,” said Schneider. “The range of retail tenants at Logan Apartments brings to the neighborhood more conveniences and adds to the diverse and highly-acclaimed restaurant culture of Logan Square.”
A mix of other national and Chicago companies and restaurants have also signed leases for the ground-floor retail space at Logan Apartments, including Aligned Modern Health, Pure Barre and uBreakiFix. Jeni’s Ice Cream, Big Wig Tacos, K-Fire Korean BBQ, a small-format Target and Verizon have already opened.
Situated on the site of the former Mega Mall, Logan Apartments is located in the heart of the historic Logan Square neighborhood along the Milwaukee bike corridor, which was recently improved with protected bike lanes. The building’s brick and dark trim exterior was inspired by the neighborhood’s classic architecture. The interior features salvaged materials from the Mega Mall and works from Chicago-based artists that pay homage to the vibrant exterior of the former building, as well as decorative fixtures and antiques sourced from local shops.
Logan Apartments includes studio, one- and two-bedroom units with high ceilings, plank flooring, gourmet kitchens, in-unit laundry and walk-in closets with organizational systems. The building offers a suite of amenities similar to those found in downtown towers such as a resident lounge, party room, coffee bar, fitness club with state-of-the-art equipment, dedicated coworking lounge and a conference center. Residents have access to outdoor amenities like a landscaped sun terrace with a pool, cabanas, grilling stations, fire pit, lounge areas and a dog run.
Parking and secure bike storage, with a bike kitchen for maintenance and repairs, is available in an indoor garage. An adjacent surface lot provides parking for visitors and retail tenants. Logan Apartments is located two blocks from the CTA Logan Square Blue Line and near multiple bus routes.
