Chicago-based Proper Title, LLC announced that Maria Milutinovic has joined the firm as commercial underwriting counsel, further strengthening its commercial services division as demand grows for more local and multi-state transactions. The number of commercial real estate deals Proper Title closed rose 38% year over year as of March 1.
A 10-year veteran of the title insurance industry, Milutinovic most recently served as an attorney title officer at Chicago Title Insurance Co. In her new role, she will support Proper Title’s growing commercial pipeline, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient underwriting process.
A dual-degree attorney, Milutinovic brings experience across health care, compliance and mortgage law, with a strong foundation in underwriting analysis, legal research and client advisory. In previous roles, she has worked in fast-paced environments managing complex transactions, navigating evolving regulatory considerations and developing practical solutions for customers.
Milutinovic earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University Bloomington, with minors in Spanish and criminal justice.
