Keystone Corporation continues to expand its Oakwood Hills master-planned development in Eau Claire, Wis. Today, Keystone Corporation is holding a ground-breaking ceremony for its newest office building in the development, a 30,000-square-foot two-story Class-A building that will serve as the future home of accountancy firm CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP.
Oakwood Hills got its start in 1977, when businessman Richard Larson purchased an 812-acre parcel in Eau Claire. Larson, in partnership with Ayres Associates, formed the Keystone Corporation to develop the master plan for Oakwood Hills. The key element of this plan, Oakwood Mall, opened its doors in 1986. Oakwood Hills today also includes residential neighborhoods and commercial areas.
Commonweal Development Corporation, since 1981, has worked with Keystone to provide development and brokerage services. Commonweal says that the city of Eau Claire has added more than $100 million to its local tax base thanks to Oakwood Hills.
The newest addition to the development will sit at the corner of Oakwood Mall Drive and Oakwood Hills Parkway once construction wraps up. The office building should be ready for occupancy in the late spring or early summer of 2014.
Commonweal Development Corporation is serving as the developer of the project, while Ayres Associates will be the architect. Market & Johnson is the general contractor.
