Construction is underway for Teach For America’s new corporate headquarters in the historic 300 W. Adams building in Chicago’s West Loop.
Teach For America is an American non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting high-achieving recent college graduates and professionals to teach for at least two years in low-income communities throughout the United States. Teach For America is currently located in the same building but will be relocating to the third floor of the 12-story structure.
The new headquarters will total 7,000 square feet with the majority of the space featuring an open office area with exposed concrete deck & mechanical systems. Plans also include private offices, huddle & telephone rooms and a lounge and screening area with stadium seating.
Summit Design + Build’s Patrick Brown, senior project manager, Adam Zarek, project engineer, and Rodger Meyer, superintendent, will be responsible for the on-site construction of Teach For America. Fitzgerald Earles Architects and Associates is the project architect. Completion is scheduled for end of first quarter 2013.
