IDI Gazeley will begin development of Antioch Corporate Center’s Building A in the Village of Antioch, Lake County, Ill. The 454,276 square-foot building will be the first in the planned 1.3 million square foot development.
Building A will feature 36 foot clear height, 48′ x 60′ bays and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation. The park is located on Route 173, approximately one and a half miles west of Interstate 94 and one half mile east of Route 45, giving tenants unparalleled access to the area’s thoroughfares and nearby international airports.
“IDI Gazeley has a number of successful developments within the Chicago metro area, however larger sites like Antioch Corporate Center are vital to creating efficiencies for our customers,” said Jeff Lanaghan, Vice President of Leasing in IDI Gazeley’s Chicago office. “In the coming years, this development will not only serve our commitment to provide customers with a superior quality product that helps them build long-term value, but also enhances the community through job creation and economic development opportunities. As a result, the Village of Antioch staff and Board have been extremely cooperative and supportive of IDI Gazeley’s efforts to fast-track the design and permitting so construction can commence in July.”
Construction is expected to be complete in early 2015. The 97-acre park includes many environmentally-friendly features, including naturalized landscaping, storm water filtration and reinjection systems, a park-wide irrigation system using storm water runoff, and 47 acres of open space wildlife habitat.
Construction was planned in 2008, but was put on hold due to the impending recession. In yet another sign of the returning vigour of the Chicago area industrial market, IDI Gazeley will commence construction as soon as possible. Jack Rosenberg, Fred Regnery and Ned Frank of Colliers International represent IDI Gazeley in the marketing of the property.
