Krusinski Construction Co. recently completed the installation of a new sterilization chamber for Sterigenics in Willowbrook. Sterigenics is a provider of contract sterilization services for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
The chamber weighs 125,000 pounds and is 52 feet long. It took a team of eight experienced riggers, a 350-ton crane and four hours to move the chamber into place in the warehouse, which included crossing a depressed truck dock. In addition to the chamber installation, the team remodeled the chiller room to accommodate the new equipment.
