McLennan Companies recently closed 36.08 acres in Alsip for Polmax Transportation Co. McLennan’s Jim Conrad and Chuck Wiercinski, CCIM, represented Polmax Transportation Co. throughout the selection and purchase of the property located at 12161 S. Central Ave.
Polmax will use the site to build a 150,000-square-foot corporate headquarters with cross-dock capability and parking for approximately 500 tractor-trailers. Additional land will be leased by the company to outside businesses that require truck parking and fleet maintenance services.
The McLennan Brokers counseled Polmax on the use of Cook County’s 6B tax abatement program along with land feasibility and highway access analyses. Numerous sites were reviewed including adaptive re-use and extensive rehab of existing buildings before the Alsip property was selected.
