Michael Thomas joins Syska Hennessy’s mission critical practice

Syska Hennessy Group has appointed Michael Thomas, a well-known leader in business development for engineering and technology, as associate partner in its Chicago office. In his new role, Thomas will oversee business development for Syska’s mission-critical practice.

“We are very pleased to add Michael Thomas to the Syska team,” said James Coe, senior principal and director of critical facilities. “He will help Syska fuel growth regionally and nationally in the mission critical marketplace with opportunities for design and commissioning services.”

Previously, Thomas served as senior vice president and director of business development at Environmental Systems Design, Inc. He also held several leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard, most recently as director and Americas service line leader, critical facilities services/data center consulting. Over the course of his career, Thomas has worked with such clients as JLL, Dell, IBM, many top-tier universities, the Mayo Clinic and the U.S. Department of Defense, to name a few.

“Mike’s polished formal style, reminiscent of a thoughtful academic, is effective for strategic-level and direct business development,” said Coe. “His exceptional interactions with peers and clients work effectively for all layers of an organization.”

Thomas, a resident of Oak Park, Illinois, received a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
