Michigan’s Farbman Group names new CFO

Southfield, Michigan-based Farbman Group, a full-service commercial real estate firm, has promoted Chris Chesney to chief financial officer from executive vice president.

In his new position, Chesney will be responsible for overseeing all accounting aspects of the firm including:

– Management of the accounting department

– Financial reporting for the real estate and corporate entities

– Oversite of all tax and audit functions

– Ensuring firm growth and financial well-being.

During his tenure at Farbman Group Chesney has performed and overseen the accounting for real estate transactions in excess of $100 million and has been involved with placing debt vehicles in excess of $50 million. Additionally he designed and managed LEED retrofits in 1.5+ million square feet of office space. Chesney has successfully completed numerous cost segregation studies resulting in hundreds of thousand dollars of income tax saved for owners and clients.

Chesney joined Farbman Group in 2014, and has more than a decade of experience in accounting. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, graduating summa cum laude. He resides in Wixom, Michigan.
