Chicago-based law firm Much Shelist represented its client, Barilla America, Inc., the American subsidiary of the leading global Italian food manufacturer, in the lease negotiations and agreement for its new Americas Regional corporate headquarters. Barilla will relocate its offices from Bannockburn, Illinois, to 885 Sunset Ridge in Northbrook. Founded in 1877 and headquartered in Parma, Italy, Barilla produces approximately 1.7 million tons of food products such as pasta and pasta sauces, bakery and crispbread items consumed in more than 100 countries.
The transaction was handled by Much Shelist Chairman David T. Brown, Real Estate Practice Group Co-Chair Harold S. Dembo, and Principal Michael D. Burstein. Under the new lease agreement, Barilla and its 150 employees will occupy the entire two-story, 75,000-square-foot building in Northbrook, a recently renovated facility with a full test kitchen.
