Peak Construction Corporation has been awarded a design-build contract for a new, speculative industrial warehouse in Joliet, Illinois. Peak has teamed with Harris Architects Inc. and Jacob & Hefner Associates and expects to complete construction by the end of 2019.
The building will be owned by TCB 1 LLC, a joint venture controlled by Beijing-based Beijing Taihua Group and Chicago-based Janko Group. Spanning 137,640 square feet, the warehouse will boast a 32-foot clear height, 30 dock doors, two drive-in doors and a flexible floorplan that can accommodate two tenants.
Beijing Taihua Group has extensive real estate development, construction and asset management expertise. Their projects have spanned office, retail, hospitality, multifamily and organic agriculture. Though based in China, the company has over 30 years of experience in both Europe and the United States. Over the past 30 years, Janko Group has been involved in nearly $1 billion of real estate investment and development and currently controls a diverse $350 million asset portfolio, which includes 500 acres of industrial land and 3.5 million square feet of potential industrial development.
