Relativity, a global legal technology company, announced plans to design and build a new Chicago headquarters at 231 South LaSalle (The Central Standard). After exploring options in the marketplace, Relativity decided to stay at 231 S. LaSalle in the Central Loop, and sign the biggest lease in the submarket this year.
Acquired in 2017 by Beacon Capital Partners, 231 South LaSalle is one of Chicago’s more recognizable architectural icons. The rich history of the building is complemented by modern office amenities and retail spaces. Relativity’s decision to commit to and reinvest in 231 South LaSalle demonstrates how persuasive real estate fundamentals can be in any market. A connected neighborhood with increasing momentum paired with luxurious modern amenities creates an environment to get business done. This staple of the Chicago skyline is home to multiple historic milestones.
Brad Serot and Paul Reaumond of CBRE represented Relativity. Jack O’Brien and Matt Whipple of Telos represented building ownership in the transaction.
