Ryan Companies US, Inc. has completed core and shell construction of the 105,575-square-foot Burr Ridge Medical Center and is nearing completion of more than 60,000 square feet of space that will be occupied in March by Loyola University Health System.
Construction of Burr Ridge Medical Center, located at 6800 N. Frontage Rd., alongside I-55, in west suburban Burr Ridge, began in January 2010. The core and shell were completed in December 2010. Sterling Bay Companies is the project’s developer.
Loyola University Health System has leased all of the building’s available tenant space, and will immediately use its first two floors at the medical center for multiple healthcare uses. Loyola has plans for expanding into another approximately 10,000 square feet in the immediate future, for its PCP practice and women’s imaging.
Among the departments that will be located at Burr Ridge Medical Center include an immediate care center, an imaging diagnostic center and a comprehensive rehabilitation center with a small therapy pool. The space also will include neurosciences, sleep center, ophthalmology and orthopedics departments.
Other members of the development team consist of Proteus Group, architect and mechanical and electrical engineer; Lindsay & Associates, Inc., structural engineer; Jacob & Hefner Associates, Inc., civil engineer; and David R. McCallum Associates, Inc., landscape architect. The design for Loyola University Health Systems’ space was completed by The Troyer Group. Sterling Bay’s project team includes Scott Goodman and Andy Gloor, principals, and Patrick O’Connor, director of development and construction. Ryan’s team consists of Robert Wehner, team leader; Eric Abrams, project manager; and Andy Horin, superintendent.
In the last five years, Ryan’s Chicago office has been involved in the development and construction of 500,000 square feet of medical office and related projects across the country, including notable projects in Wisconsin and Iowa.
